| 'Gavamangeshu
tishtanti bhuvanani chaturdasah'. It
is said, various parts of a cow's body represent
fourteen lokas. Cow considered as
the manifestation of all gods is devoutly
worshipped by all Hindus. The very existence of
mankind depends on cow's milk, Hence, cow, known
as 'Goshu visvasyamatarah', is revered as Mother
cow. It is therefore our bounden duty to preserve
and protect cows. Tirumala The
Tirupati Devasthanams launched "Sri Venkateswara
Gosamrakshana Trust" to
perform this sacred duty.
All
the donations to the Trust will be utilised for
the protection of cows. Over 500 cows are being
maintained by TTD. Milk and milk products
like curd and butter from them are being supplied
for daily rituals and sevas like Sahasra
Kalasabhishekam and Friday Abhishekam, Prasadam
and Nithyannadanam to Sri Vari Temple and other
T.T. Devasthanams Temples including Sri Padmavathi
Ammavaru Temple, Sri
Kodanda Ramaswamy Temple, Sri Govihdarajaswami
Temple, Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swami and Sri
Kapileswara Swami Temples.
They are supplied also to TTD service institutions
like Sri Venkateswara Deaf and Dumb School, S.V.
Poor Home, (Lepresorium), and S.V. Training
cum-Production centre for the Handicapped. They
are doing these services to the utmost
satisfaction of the people as well
as devotees. It is also proposed under this scheme
by T.T. Devasthanams to grow superior breed of
cows and supply them free or at nominal
rate to medium and small farmers for agriculture
and milk production, enabling thus to render
service to mankind through 'Go seva'.
One
who nourishes and worships the Mother cow receives
all well being. In the story relating to the
manifestation of Sri Venkateswara, it
was the Mother cow who first served the Lord,
regarding Him as Gpvinda. Apart from nectar like
milk, cow's dung and urine too are beneficial
to mankind. The Mother cow has sustained man since
his birth. When cow is offered as gift after a
person's death, he reaches the celestial worlds.
The
T.T. Devasthanams set up Sri Venkateswara
Gosamrakshana Trust in order to perform these
noble tasks. Devotees, considering it as a great
opportunity bestowed upon by Lord Venkateswara,
the Lord of Kaliyuga, are requested to make their
liberal contributions, not less than Rs. 1000 by
DD in favour of SVGST, T.T. Devasthanams, Tirupati
and send to the Director, S.V. Gosamrakshana
Trust, S.V. Dairy Farm, T.T.D. Chandragiri Road,
Tirupati - 517 502.
