Sri Venkateswara Jalanidhi Scheme
 
Overview
 
Sri Venkateswara Jalanidhi Scheme is a unique scheme evolved by TTD to provide adequate water for the pilgrims' use in and around Tirupati and Tirumala.

TTD is currently spending several crores of rupees on maintenance and electrical charges for supplying 20 lakh gallons of water per day. It also spends a sizeable part of its income to improve water resources at Tirumala. TTD has taken up a massive project with an estimated cost of Rs.100 Crores to construct Kumara Dhara and Pasupu Dhara dams in Tirumala Hills to provide drinking water to the pilgrims. .

Objective
 
The aim of the scheme is to utilize the donations received to provide water for drinking and other basic needs to the pilgrim public. This includes the floating population at Tirumala (Panchayat) and Tirupati (Municipality). Later, this facility will be extended to people in the surrounding areas also. The funds will be utilized for purposes such as construction of dams, check dams, storage tanks, percolation tanks and to raise the available water resources.

How to Donate
 

The minimum donation accepted for the scheme will be Rs.1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) and multiples thereof. The donation can be made by way of Cheque/ Demand Draft on any scheduled bank drawn in the name of 'The Executive Officer, S.V.Jalanidhi Scheme, Tirupati', to be sent to 'The Secretary, S.V.Jalanidhi Scheme, Office of the Chief Engineer, T.T.Devasthanams, Tirupati-517 501.'

Individuals, firms, companies etc. can make donations, and they are eligible for Income Tax exemption under Section 80(G) of the Indian Income Tax Act.

Privileges
 

Donors who pay Rs. 5 lakh and above will be extended the following facilities:

  • The Donor and his family will be provided free accommodation for 3 days in a year in ARP Counter or VIP accommodation on payment basis subject to availability. The Donor can avail this facility for 3 days consecutively or at 3 different dates in a year.
  • The Donor and his family (not exceeding five) will be admitted for VIP darshan through Cellar in Vaikuntam 'Q' Complex-I for 3 days in a year. The Donor can avail this facility 3 days consecutively or at 3 different dates in a year.
  • Ten small laddus will be issued to the Donor as prasadam once in a year during the visit of Donor.
  • One Dupatta will be presented to the Donor as bahumanam once in a year during the visit of Donor.
  • One gold plated silver medallion with the image of Srivaru and Goddess Padmavathi Devi will be given at the time of Donor's first visit only.

These privileges will be extended during the life time of the Donor and his/her spouse in case of individuals and for 20 years in case of the companies.
